🍮 Ube Halaya (Purple Yam Jam) 💜
Thick, rich, and oh so satisfying, Ube Halaya is a traditional Filipino dessert that’s basically a hug in a spoon. Serve it cold, top it on toast, or eat it straight from the jar 😋
🛒 Ingredients You’ll Need:

💜 225g Ube Lab's Powder

🥥 1 can (400ml) regular coconut milk
-
🥫 1 can (300ml) sweetened condensed milk
-
🍚 1/2 cup sugar
-
🧈 1 tbsp butter
-
🌿 1 tsp vanilla extract or real vanilla paste
-
🥛 3/4 cup water or milk (any kind!)
🍳 Let’s Get Cooking:
1.Coconut base first 🥥
In a large non-stick pan, pour in the coconut milk and bring it to a gentle simmer.
2.Sweeten it up 🍬
Stir in the sugar and simmer until the mixture starts to thicken (around 10 mins). Stir often, it’s all about the love. ❤️
3.Add condensed magic 🥫
Pour in the condensed milk, stirring constantly until it thickens even more (~3 mins).
4.Butter + vanilla = flavor bomb 💣
Drop in the butter and vanilla extract, stir until it’s smooth and fragrant. ✨
5.Bring on the purple 💜
Lower the heat and gently stir in the Ube Powder. Cook and stir for another 5 minutes, scraping the bottom often to prevent burning.
6.Make it silky 💧
Add 3/4 cup of your choice: water, milk, or even more coconut milk. Stir it in gently.
7.Slow cook the love 🔥
Keep it on low heat and cook for 30–45 minutes, stirring often. It should become thick, like pudding or jam.
8.Smooth operator time 🤖
Use a handheld immersion blender to get that velvety, dreamy texture. So satisfying.
9.Cool it down ❄️
Pour your Ube Halaya into a container, smooth the top, cover it tightly (no air, please!), and refrigerate until fully chilled.
10.Serve & swoon 🍽️
